Expert Gruppo Somma is a company founded in the early 1960s and specialized in the sale of consumer electronics goods.

Equipped with a vast network of physical stores and an online store, the group is positioned among the top players in the market in terms of the ratio between the number of sales points and overall turnover.

Customer's needs

Together with the customer we collected all the technological and business needs, identifying the following needs:

  • Reduction of time to market.
  • Need to optimize the management and planning of seasonal promotions (such as Black Friday).
  • Improve the integration process between Sales and Marketing areas thanks to analytics tools.
  • Integrate a push notification system to send communications based on a specific cluster of users.
  • Management of infrastructure costs linked to traffic peaks due to promotions.

Fides Solution

The strategy adopted to develop a scalable, resilient and customized technological solution was based on an in-depth internal analysis of the existing technological structure. Given the nature of the domain, it was decided to opt for a serverless solution to maximize scalability, eliminating the need for resource provisioning and adopting a payment model based on actual usage.

The entire system was implemented using AWS (Amazon Web Services) services and following a microservices architecture to promote modularity and component management. An omnichannel approach was chosen to integrate both online and offline functions, such as managing product availability and booking services.

In parallel with the strengthening of the technological infrastructure, particular attention was paid to the user experience (UX), involving a team of UX and UI experts to identify and resolve critical issues in the online shopping experience.

Through detailed analysis and interactive testing, targeted changes were made to optimize the user interface and make the purchasing process faster, smoother and more intuitive for different user clusters.
